ROCKY MOUNTAIN EARTH SERVICES FOUNDATION
Rocky Mountain Earth Services was established in Steamboat Springs in the fall of 2023. It represents a culmination of life experiences and fortuitous timing for the owner, John, and his wife, Natalie, a native of the town, finally had the opportunity to return home to start their family.
Since childhood, John has held a deep love for Tonka trucks and the great outdoors. Thus, when the idea arose to pursue this passion, RMES was born. Specializing in excavation services and wildfire mitigation/land development, the company is committed to aiding clients in preparing for the future, whether it involves constructing a new home or safeguarding against the present wildfire risks.
Operating as stewards of the land, RMES prioritizes best practices while keeping environmental conservation in mind. With a profound passion for the outdoors and all its offerings, RMES aims to achieve your project goals while preserving and enhancing the natural environment.
Born and raised in Snohomish, Washington, John had a deep love for the outdoors, football, and construction from a young age. This passion led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management at Colorado State University alongside his college football career as a defensive lineman.
Following his education, John began his professional career with one of Denver's leading commercial construction firms, specializing in large-scale multi-family developments. Overseeing the completion of over one million square feet of construction, he honed his skills and expertise in the field. During this time, John felt as strong pull to serve his community in Fort Collins. After several years, John had the opportunity to join the Poudre Fire Authority. During his tenure as a firefighter, he gained invaluable experience fighting house fires and combating major wildfires like the Cameron Peak Fire.
Upon relocating to Steamboat Springs, John further developed his construction career as a Senior Project Manager at Alpine Master Builders, where he led some of the area's highest-profile construction projects. It was during this time that he and his wife made the decision to establish Rocky Mountain Earth Services, leveraging his extensive firsthand knowledge of construction and firefighting to serve the community of Steamboat Springs and surrounding areas.
